Zarah Kofler

Since 2021/22 Zarah Kofler has been a company member at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin, where she has worked with directors including René Pollesch, Julien Gosselin, Kornél Mundruczó, Kurdwin Ayub, and the performance collective Gob Squad.

Since 2022 she has developed an ongoing collaboration with writer Lydia Haider. Together they curate the Toten und Halbtoten Salon at the Red Saloon of the Volksbühne.

In 2023/24, she played the role of Fräulein Else (based on Arthur Schnitzler) in Extinction by Julien Gosselin. The production premiered at the Wiener Festwochen and the Festival d’Avignon, and went on to tour across Europe.

2024/25 she appears in Method by Kornél Mundruczó and Kata Wéber as the influencer and rising acting star Rose, alongside Martin Wuttke and Johanna Wokalek.
In Weiße Witwe by Kurdwin Ayub, she plays the bodyguard Jessica and the character Leila, performing alongside addeN, Georg Friedrich, Benny Claessens, and Samirah Breuer. The production is part of the Volksbühne’s repertoire and will be presented at Radikal Jung (Münchner Volkstheater) and the Wiener Festwochen(Volkstheater Wien).

In summer 2025, Zarah Kofler will play the role of Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare (adapted by Thomas Brasch) at the Tiroler Volksschauspiele, directed by Gregor Bloéb.
