Vita Smachelyuk is a Ukrainian actress based in Germany. She won the Czech Film Critics' Award for Best Actress for her lead performance as Irina in Victim (2022), directed by Michal Blaško - which premiered at the Venice Film Festival (Horizons), screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, and was selected as Slovakia's official entry for Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards. She was also nominated for the Czech Lion, Sun in a Net, and IGRIC Awards for the same role. Her latest credit, Mila Zhluktenko's short film Critical Condition (2025), world-premiered at La Semaine de la Critique, Cannes. A graduate of Kyiv's Karpenko-Kary National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television, Smachelyuk has over 30 screen credits across film and television. She speaks Ukrainian, Russian, Czech and German.
