Nima Aida Séne, (g.1991, she/they) works and lives as an artist and actor. Nima grew up inter-disciplinarily with intensive training in dance theatre in a youth company (2005 - 2013). Since 2011 and her move to London to study acting and theatre studies, Nima has been writing songs and singing.
First it was many years privately and only for herself and friends, from 2016 in and after Drama School studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Nima Aida Séne sings publicly, invited by festivals such as Kelburn Garden Party, Eden Festival, Glasgow School of Art (Scotland), Somerset House, Toynbee Studios (London), 2016. Thus Nima Aida Séne is always interdisciplinary. Be it theatre, film, music or visual art. Séne loves teamwork and to be present with enthusiasm and research most of all.
Among others, Nima Aida Séne has performed Showdown at the Chamäleon Theatre (2024, Berlin) with Upswing Arial (London), at the Schlachthaus Theatre (Bern) and Kaserne (Basel) PlayBlack (2020), at HAU Yo Bro (2022), presented at Mousonturm (Frankfurt) by Joana Tischkau and Elizabeth Hampe, has performed at the South Bank Centre (London) 3 original works B2B x 2 & p a l e (film, live music, interactive performance) presented in 2022 invited by Brownton Abbey (Marlborough Productions), at the Volksbühne, Pop-Kultur, XJAZZ! , Reethaus (Berlin) with A Song For You - choir Kollektiv (Berlin, 2023) as choir member and orator (speaker). As a professional background vocalist, Séne worked for King Josephine (2024) and Saint Precious (2023).
As an artist, Nima Séne has been supported by The Work Room, Take Me Somewhere, Fierce Festival, Live Art Development Agency, Creative Scotland, National Theatre of Scotland, BUZZCUT, Music Board Berlin and the Fonds der Darstellenden Künste several times through funding for residencies to develop original work.
