Lena Anna Castrup

Wherever I go, I am strongly taking in the context that surrounds me. I feel connected to the hybrid of the industrial Ruhr-Area and the rural part of Münsterland, where I grew up, as well as to the padres and nuns who taught us at our catholic school which had a monastery attached to it. The same feeling of connection I built during the 8 years that I spent living, working, researching and both film and theater acting in Israel, where I was introduced to jewish herritage, tradition and holidays. Also, of course, I always witnessed discussions on perspectives and questions regarding both israeli-german relations, as well as the current political situation in the middle east with the most difficult and devastating conflicts. After having spent some time in colorful and dynamic Berlin, taking part in different theater and performance projects as well as enjoying the diversity of cultural events and exchange, I am today, since the summer, living in beautiful film- and theater city Munich.
